Your bedroom: it's not only a place to stay at night! It's a very private room to stay apart, dreaming, relaxing, reading, thinking... Anybody has his own way to live his privacy and you have to find your one: minimal style for those ones who don't love decorations and romantic details for those that want to dream during the day as well.

\r\n

A trick
Why do we always sleep with our head against the wall? Primordial instinct! We want to face any danger instead of having it behind us! We can also place a chest of drawers in the middle of the room and we will get the same result as it was a wall, but in the same time we have gained place for our stuff. This is also a very good solution to obtain an office in your sleeping room if this is the only place where you can get it. The room is so divided that when you go to bed you don't see your working place as last thing, and when you wake up in the morning the first sight is not your office!

Reading in bed
Impossible to stop the presence of e-book, but in your bed it's so nice to have paper books! We can also use them as a night table, creating a pile of books. If you want to get a decoration, put them on the shelves so that you will see the color side that fits your bedroom, and the others ones from the side that shows only the neutral pages.

Zen style around your bed
Soft colors, minimal style and a branch of cherry tree at the wall (Wall-tattoos: www.dawanda.com) let us understand that you can find peace here. You can also choose a mattress “Futon” and your room will look bigger. If you lay it directly on the floor, without frames, without bedhead, your look won't find any barriers. To give more importance to your Futon, you can ask your carpenter to build a platform so that your bed seems divided from the rest of the room, it's a sort of island!

A different night table
Why don't dare and instead of using a classical night table can't we use a bamboo or wood ladder?
We can fix there a light just using a clamp and you can hang the book you are reading on one step, letting it open at the page where you are. Who needs more space around his bed, can hang a little linen bag to put what he loves. But remember: less is more!

Bedhead
I personally don't love beds with bedhead. I prefer be creative! For example you can use old window shutters fixed at the wall. Or at Do-it-yourself shop you can ask to cut a piece of plywood in the measures you need and then you can cover it with fabric to obtain a “Capitonnè” Style. If you love patchwork, create your bedhead with the fabrics you like or use a tapestry! Ideas are endless!

I've still one! Take some wallpaper and cut the shape you like, then glue it at the wall!

Hangers and dumbwaiter
You don't have always to retire everything into your wardrobe! If you find old hangers at flee-markets, put them at the wall to expose your necklaces and your foulards collection. As dumbwaiter you can use old easels or old dressmaker's dummies.

Princess bed
Don't you have a canopy bed? No problem! With four pieces of wood, or curtain roods or bamboo sticks to hang at the ceiling you create one! Hang curtains or fabrics like you want around these sticks and lay soft and light fabric on the whole. You are very free to decorate your princess bedroom in the way you have always dreamt it!
