This season is not sad, on the contrary there are so many feasts that we can invite people at home, in our warm nest and therefore we have to be ready with a cozy place to welcome everybody.

The colors of this season go from a deep gold to a bright orange and change moving in an endless possibilities of red. These vivid shades are reflected in the fabrics we use in Autumn as velvet, paisley and tweed. We love these fabrics because they give us warm sensations and this is more true when it gets colder outside.
Nature give us a big help to let enter its abundance of colors in our houses.
Let’s just make some examples: think about pumpkins! It doesn’t matter if you like Halloween or not. Some pumpkins here and there (they don’t have always to be orange) with lights are perfect for Autumn decorations. And if you love Halloween, you can carve your pumpkin to create your Jack O’ lantern.

Fruits as well …apples for example are wonderful when in a bowl and, if you like, you can add colored leaves you have gathered during a walk. You can use walnuts or nuts instead of apples. Be creative with your decorations! Have a walk outside and use what nature offers you!

Change the colors of the candles you have at home. Fragrances as well: for this season your candles can smell of apples, oranges and wood. Remember that your windows are closed now and these fragrances in your house can get a pleasant smell in any room. It’s a good idea to put your candles in a can or in a basket. It’s nice to find them easily when you want to light one, when you want some atmosphere… You can fasten them as well, maybe with ribbons or only cord. This is immediately another nice decoration.
\r\nChange plaids on your sofas because the ones you used in Summer are not nice to feel any more; not because of their colors but because of the fabrics they are made of. If your house is big and you are a numerous family, put a basket next to your sofas with some blankets inside. \r\nI really like knitting in this season and so I find my place next to the sofa, I bring my bag with inside everything I need to knit, my wool and, to complete the picture… my cat sleeping next to me!
