Lamp with a paper dress

Different recycling

With some simple paper create a lamp as design object. You need: an old lamp shade, white paper A4 format, scissors, sewing machine, scotch.

Instructions

To create the body divide the paper into 4 pieces. Put the paper pieces one after the other, it has to look like a stripe. Sew them all together with the sewing machine and you will obtain a garland. The length and the quantity of your garlands depend on the size of your lamp shade. You have to put the first garland at the bottom of the shade and fix it in back of it with scotch. Make the same with the second garland but take care that you put it with the paper over the first row and shift the paper as a “fish dress”. Fix all garlands in back of the lamp with scotch. Go on until you finish. At the end crumple soft all the papers.

Other version

Instead of normal paper you can also use the pages of old books. Do you know what I mean, the old little books? Or you can ask your friends to write something on little papers. If you like you can take pages with poems or famous aphorisms. You can personalize this lamp as you want. The only thing important is that the papers are rectangular shape and with the same size.
