Eating in Cherasco in the Langhe (Piedmont)

 

As usual…. to see better “click” on the photos!


There are so many restaurants in Cherasco but, as usual, anyone has his favorite ones. So, what is following is not a real guide but only my opinion.

Osteria Giardino del ristorante



The owner of “Inn La Torre” is Marco and he is one of my dearest friends. My husband and me followed him in all his working steps and there is a good reason: he can cook! He can really cook traditional receipts very well, but with a new interpretation. His oldest son Mattia has been working with him for some years and he shares with his father the same passion for authentic food. It’s really a joy to see them working togheter with such a love in order to satisty their customers, who usually waits for their tellers mouthwatering. This always happens after listenting Marco’s brother and Erika telling the menu. They do in this way: you don’t have to read the menu, it’s told to you!

 


 
Lele, Marco’s brother, can recommend you a good wine and what is more important you feel at ease. You have a big choice. The inn “La Torre” is very cozy not only for us that are often there, but for any other customers as well. You feel fine, you eat and drink well and the atmosphere Marco, Mattia and Lele can create let everybody feel in peace with the rest of the world at least for a couple oh hours.

 


 


 
Cherasco is the capital of snails as well (thanks to Giovanni Avagnina, the owner of the company Euro Helix). Marco’s restaurant with his team is the proper place to eat snails in any possible way. The way he cooks them is really special and unique and even people who doesn’t usually eat snails try to order them here and appreciate them!

I chose these two restaurants in Cherasco because my husband and me really love good food. This is not the only reason: during the years I managed my shop I often sent there my customers and they have never been disappointed, on the contrary they came back to both of these places. But I suggest you to book in both of the restaurants or your stomach risks to remain empty!

We can say this restaurant is our second house. It offers simple and creative food, the place is cozy and suggestive, products are always fresh, plates are various and the quality is high with reasonable prices. You don’t have to eat as people usually do in Italy, I mean starter, first course, second course, cheese, dessert (the ice-cream is especially good). No, here you are completely free to have a dinner without organizing it, before or after your cinema, or if you want the whole menu you can take it! You can choose among many and different wines and if you like drinking a sparkling wine… no problems! You have just to order! The same if you want a rum after dinner smoking your cigar…you can have everything!

 


There is a place where you can also buy and in this “shop” you can find the special pasta Gragnano, biscuits, ham, Pata Negra for example and a lot of cheese.
On Fridays the fish is the leading teller and any week is different, the only thing that is always the same is that it is fresh and it is often served with a wine rosé “Lugano”. Who can refuse?

 

 


Let’s talk about the owners: two people who always welcome you with a big smile! Alfredo is one of the charter members of the association Slow Food, he loves food and transformed this passion into his profession. Manuela is an architect and has bubbles in her blood, she loves food as well, but you wouldn’t say this if you look her look (what a lucky person she is!).
They organize together theme dinners inviting chefs and producers from any part of Italy.

 


At the entrance you find a list where you can write your e-mail address. In this way you will be informed about all the events and about any special Friday’s menu. It is very useful, isn’t it?


Both these restaurants gave me one of their receipts. Look at FOOD, where I wrote them for you.
